Bloop
Fuzzy teal alien scout (three eyes, suction-cup feet)
Enthusiastic field scout, officially in charge of the clipboard
Bloop is the Galactic Neighbors Survey's most enthusiastic field agent, which is a nice way of saying he has never once completed a mission without getting emotionally attached to something. Covered in soft teal fuzz with three wide happy eyes and stubby suction-cup feet, Bloop documents everything on a clipboard three times his size, files reports on ants, clouds, and crumbs, and believes every problem in the universe can be solved with curiosity and a snack. He is never mean, never sarcastic, and never gives up on a petunia.

Nib
Gray one-eyed alien pilot
Deadpan pilot and voice of reason (ignored)
Nib is Bloop's shipmate and the survey's resident realist, a small gray alien with one enormous unimpressed eye and the posture of someone who has read the entire mission manual twice. Nib does not share Bloop's optimism about ants, clouds, or the structural integrity of cookies, but has quietly followed his co-worker into every ridiculous situation since landing day, and fixes the saucer whenever Bloop leans on it. The universe is confusing and Earth is worse, but Nib has never actually asked to go home.

Tansy
Garden fairy
Garden landlord, fairy of the petunias
Tansy is the fairy in charge of the garden, a title she awarded herself and defends with dragonfly wings, a leaf dress, and a watering can nearly her own size. She is bossy, brisk, and deeply devoted to every plant in her care, including the weeds, which she relocates rather than removes. She initially classified the aliens as invasive species but has since upgraded them to 'weeds with a clipboard,' which in Tansy's taxonomy is a promotion. Underneath the scolding she keeps a jar of honey water for visitors and refuses to admit it.

Kevin
Garden snail
Zen master, unlikely hero, slowest bit in the strip
Kevin is a snail. He lives in the garden, wears a tiny blue bowtie for reasons he has never explained, and moves at a speed that turns out to be perfect for comedy. Kevin speaks rarely, usually one calm sentence at the exact moment it lands hardest, and has been mistaken for an ant, a comet, and a specimen by every other member of the cast. He is the only character who has never once been in a hurry, and the only one who is always exactly where he needs to be.
